Laser Hair Removal Near Johns Creek, GA

Clinical Precision, Permanent Reduction

Johns Creek residents tend to ask sharper questions before committing to any medical aesthetic treatment — and rightly so. What laser system are you using? Who supervises the treatment? Will this work on my skin type? What are realistic expectations? These aren’t difficult questions. They’re the right ones. Here’s exactly how we answer them.

Windermere MedSpa is located about 15 minutes from Johns Creek via GA-400 North, Exit 13 at Windermere Village, Cumming GA. We offer permanent laser hair reduction and laser hair removal using the Syneron-Candela Clarity II under the direct supervision of Dr. Priya Bayyapureddy, MD, Board-Certified Internal Medicine with over 20 years of clinical experience.

Laser Hair Removal vs. IPL

What Johns Creek Clients Need to Know

Several clinics serving the Johns Creek area offer IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and market it as laser hair removal. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses scattered broad-spectrum light — effective for some lighter skin tones with dark hair, but lacking the targeting precision, follicle depth, and safety profile of true medical-grade laser. If you’ve had IPL and been disappointed, that may be why.

The Clarity II is a true laser — two coherent wavelengths, each targeting follicle melanin with clinical precision. The 755nm Alexandrite for lighter complexions. The 1064nm Nd:YAG for medium-to-deep skin tones. Different mechanisms, different wavelengths, same goal: permanent laser hair reduction without compromising skin integrity.

The Technology Behind Our Laser Hair Removal

What We Use at Windermere MedSpa

When you’re choosing a laser hair removal clinic near Johns Creek, the technology being used matters as much as the person operating it. At Windermere MedSpa, we use the Syneron-Candela Clarity II — one of the most advanced FDA-cleared dual-wavelength laser platforms currently available for permanent laser hair reduction.

Syneron-Candela Clarity II Dual-Wavelength Laser

1. 755nm Alexandrite Wavelength

Ideal for lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick I–III). Targets melanin in the hair follicle with high precision, delivering fast and effective permanent hair reduction with minimal surrounding tissue involvement.

2. 1064nm Nd:YAG Wavelength

Engineered for medium-to-deep skin tones (Fitzpatrick III–VI). The longer wavelength bypasses surface melanin entirely, targeting the follicle safely at depth — making it one of the few laser platforms genuinely safe for South Asian, Black, Middle Eastern, and multiracial complexions.

3. Intelligent Motion (IM) Technology

Allows our providers to treat large areas like the back, legs, or chest in a fraction of the time required by older systems, without sacrificing energy delivery.

4. Therma-Cool Integrated Cooling

Built-in cooling system reduces surface skin temperature during treatment, making sessions significantly more comfortable than older laser platforms without a dedicated cooling mechanism.

5. FDA-Cleared for All Fitzpatrick Skin Types I–VI

Not a workaround or an off-label use. The Clarity II is explicitly cleared for safe use across the full range of human skin tones.

6. Real-Time Parameter Display

our providers set and review energy parameters (fluence, pulse duration, spot size) for your specific skin tone at every session. You can see exactly what settings are being used.
23664
This is not the equipment you’ll find at a nail salon offering laser as an add-on service, or at a franchise chain running high volume on outdated IPL machines. The Clarity II is what credentialed clinical teams choose when outcomes and safety are non-negotiable.

Board-Certified Physician Supervision

What That Means for Your Johns Creek Laser Hair Removal

Every laser hair removal treatment at Windermere MedSpa is performed under the supervision of Dr. Priya Bayyapureddy, MD, a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician with over 20 years of clinical practice. This is not a ceremonial title. Physician oversight means that clinical protocols, contraindication screening, and treatment parameters are set and reviewed by someone with the medical training to understand the full picture of your health — not just your aesthetic goals.

Our nurse practitioners are not aestheticians who completed a weekend laser certification course. They are advanced practice clinicians who chose aesthetic medicine as a specialty after careers in hospital systems, urgent care facilities, and internal medicine practices. The clinical judgment they bring to each session — recognizing medication interactions, screening for inflammatory skin conditions, adjusting for hormonal changes — is what separates a medically supervised treatment from a beauty service.

After searching a lot finally decided to go for Ultra laser face treatment for my sun spot and uneven skin tone.I have seen the difference in the first treatment itself even though have 2 more sessions. I have a taken without numbing cream as I have a high tolerance, but I do not suggest without numbing cream for less tolerance skin. For the first 7-10days after treatment there are noticeable rough lines on the face and started peeling. After 2weeks I can see the skin complex brighter and the sunspot colour is lightening. I was suggested to have 3 sessions to get the best results and I am happy to start seeing from the 1st session itself.I have used the moisturizer recommend everyday morning after face wash for best results. Way before Ultra laser I had one session of Hollywood peel which is also good and made my skin smooth and reduced the dullness. I am very thankful to Kshama and higly recommed her. She took care of my concerns and explained clearly about the treatment plans and procedures and checked back after post treatment.

Visited Windermere Medspa for a laser treatment of my face. I usually would not trust anyone with those treatments especially if its my face, but I can trust Windermere Med spa . The technician was very good at what she does, very professional from start to finish. explained to me what the process involves, what to expect after the first treatment so on and so forth. I feel very comfortable entrusting them with my care. 5 Stars and customers for life. Laser Hair Removal FAQ — Johns Creek Clients

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal and permanent laser hair reduction refer to the same treatment goal. The FDA-cleared term is “permanent reduction” — meaning laser significantly and lastingly reduces hair growth in treated follicles. A small percentage of follicles may remain active or reactivate over time due to hormonal changes, which is why periodic maintenance sessions are recommended.
Most clients require 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal permanent laser hair reduction. The exact number depends on the treatment area, your hair’s density and growth cycle, your skin type, and your hormonal profile.
Yes. It’s completely safe when performed on the right equipment by qualified providers. The Clarity II laser’s 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength is specifically designed for Fitzpatrick skin types IV through VI (medium brown to deep complexions). It bypasses surface melanin and targets hair follicles safely at depth and scarring that older single-wavelength systems carry on darker skin. Windermere MedSpa performs a skin assessment before every session and serves clients across the full range of skin tones.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths and scatters energy across multiple tissue targets — it can reduce hair growth but lacks the precision, depth, and safety profile of a true medical-grade laser. Laser hair removal uses a single coherent wavelength targeted specifically at melanin in the hair follicle. The result is more predictable, more effective, and significantly safer for a wider range of skin tones.
Laser hair removal near Johns Creek, GA typically cost between $60 and $400 per session for small to medium areas, while multi-session packages for large or full-body areas can range from $300 to $900+. Pricing at Windermere MedSpa varies by treatment area, number of sessions, and whether you choose a package or per-session pricing.
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild pinch or warmth — tolerable for the vast majority of people. Sensitive areas like the bikini line or upper lip may feel more intense.
All treatments at Windermere MedSpa are performed by credentialed nurse practitioners under the supervision of Dr. Priya Bayyapureddy, MD, Board-Certified in Internal Medicine with over 20 years of clinical experience. Our nurse practitioners hold advanced degrees and come from hospital, urgent care, and clinical medicine backgrounds — not cosmetology or aesthetician training. This clinical standard is a deliberate choice, not a marketing claim.
Yes. Clients with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) or other hormonal conditions can absolutely undergo laser hair removal. However, hormonal fluctuations can affect how quickly results are achieved, and additional maintenance sessions may be needed over time.
Shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment. Avoid sun exposure, self-tanner, and retinol products for at least 2 weeks prior. Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams between sessions — the hair root must be present in the follicle for laser to work. Arrive with clean, product-free skin on the treatment area. Your provider will review any additional preparation steps at your consultation.
For 24–48 hours post-treatment, avoid sun exposure (use SPF 30+ if going outside), hot showers, saunas, strenuous exercise, and any exfoliating products on the treated area. You may notice redness or slight swelling immediately after — this is normal and typically resolves within a few hours. Treated hairs will shed over 2–3 weeks, which is expected and part of the process. Your provider will give you full aftercare instructions at your session.
Yes. Male clients are a growing segment of our patient base, particularly for back, chest, shoulder, neck, and beard-line treatments. Our providers approach all treatments with the same professional, clinical standards regardless of gender. Call (470) 570-6727 or book online for a free consultation.
Yes. And this is a question we hear frequently from Johns Creek clients. Prior IPL may have affected some follicles, but medical-grade lasers like the Clarity II typically produce meaningful additional results because it penetrates more precisely and deeply. Your provider will assess your current hair density and growth at consultation and give you an honest projection.
